15kg Gas Stay Upgrade

The Load-Lid comes standard with gas stays sized for opening with no load on top. If you're running bikes or other gear on the lid, the standard stays won't have enough force to help lift the weight - that's where the Gas Stay Upgrade comes in.

Rated to assist with loads of 0-15kg (one bike, ladder rack, or crossbars), the upgrade helps you lift the lid under load. It won't do the work for you, but it makes a noticeable difference when the lid is carrying gear.

Important: The upgraded gas stays are designed to be used only when there is weight on top of the lid. Because they increase opening force, they also increase the force required to close the lid - making day-to-day use harder and potentially damaging the product if used unloaded.

We recommend keeping your original gas stays and swapping them out to match your load. The 15kg+ stays should not be fitted unless there is a load on top. Supplied with two struts (one for either side).
