"It'd just be cool to put some kai on the table for the kids… then I can tell the stories at the dinner table... 'Oh I shot this deer in Ohakune.'"

Clarke Boys Hunting is a family-run YouTube channel following Sam, Noah, Harry, and the rest of the family as they get outdoors across New Zealand.

From ducks to deer and everything in between, these boys are grounded in real hunting, real learning, and bringing the kids along for the ride. Doing it together, making memories, and having a good story or two to tell at the dinner table.

One Set-Up. Real Use.

We got in touch with Sam to see if he'd put our new TrailCore tray and canopy through its paces.

The plan was simple. No polished demo. Just a handover of keys, and the ute used the way Sam and his family actually live. Mud, bush, kids, dogs, and all.

Sam rocked up to Utemaster and traded his keys for a Toyota Hilux fitted with a TrailCore tray and canopy, with a few extra features added to level up the adventure. A pull-out kitchen. A rooftop tent. A setup ready for two weeks of hunting, family time, and whatever the trip threw at it.

Part 1: Two Brothers Head to Sika Country

The first episode kicks things off with Sam and the kids picking up the ute and getting familiar with the TrailCore setup.

From there, Sam and Harry head into sika country, bunking up in the rooftop tent and hunting new ground.

See how they got on:

Part 2: Practice Makes Perfect

Sam picks up Stacey and the kids and heads into a family hunting holiday.

Partway through the trip, Stacey decides she wants to shoot a deer, and after taking time to practise and do things properly, the family heads out together. It doesn't come together straight away. The wind's wrong. The kids are tired. Patience wears thin.

On the final day, the opportunity presents itself.

"I shot my first deer!"

Stacey bags her first stag. A clean shot. A moment none of them will forget, and one Stacey, Sam and the kids can share at the dinner table for years to come.
